where is the time agoin'?

It's the second week of school and it's already kicking my ass. I haven't had time to blog/journal, and I can feel myself sag heavily with the weight of things to say piling up on top of me.

I don't have much time because my online class is about to start. It's a short fiction class and we get to read Brokeback Mountain. I hope the sex is more graphic than it was in the movie, although when Heath Ledger licks his fingers while Jake Gyllenhaal is on all fours in front of him, well, I felt strange, hot tinglies and got goose bumps on my arm.

I also haven't had time to read all of my favorite bloggers and that makes me sad. I have a lot of catching up to do.

I just want to end with a funny thing that my friend said to me the other day. She might read this so I want her to know that I love her to death and wouldn't trade her for the world.

"You don't act very feminine for someone who is a feminist."

Oh, I totally hear you about the school work. I'm in the midsts of procrastinating right now, so good for you for avoiding blogging to focus! Your studies are important! ;)

I've read Brokeback Mountain before; to be honest, I don't recall it being particularly sexy or graphic in many scenes. I haven't seen the movie at all though, so I can't compare the two.

Your friend's statement is really intriguing! You could totally do a feminist analysis of it. :)

PS I'm still in total awe over that tarot reading you gave me. I ended up writing it out and pinning it to my wall. It's really guiding me now. Thank-you so much.

PSS Remember that tantra you left on one of my posts. Well, I totally stumbled upon that form of tantrism in my Hindu textbook. Now, I'm a huge fan and I'm doing tons of research. You're amazing! ^_^ I'm in the midsts of reading The Spiral Dance too.

Do you know that Annie Proulx's Brokeback Mountain is my hands down, top-of-the-pile, single favorite piece of writing I have ever read? (wait- I take that back- I can't make those kinds of statements!) Oh- but how to show my love for this short story without a superlative?! It's perfect. It's just perfect. Every single word was carefully tapped into place with a jewel hammer, over the course of many, many years. Did you know it took her longer to write Brokeback than it took her to write the Shipping News? It's just perfect. Read it over and over, and you'll see. The sentences never wear thin- they're carved out of a single solid hunk of stone.
